Tacloban, Yes to HUC?
Tacloban City is now facing a very tough question. The issue of converting Tacloban City from a component city to a highly urbanized city has been the talk of the town in the past weeks. But the real question here is, is Tacloban City now ready to become a highly urbanized city? What will the Taclobanons benefit once Tacloban City finally gets its independence from the Province of Leyte?
I am from a town outside Tacloban City but I can not stay away from the talks about Tacloban City finally being named as a Philippines Newest Highly Urbanized City. The Local Government of the City of Tacloban is promoting this conversion and is still on its massive campaign informing every Taclobanon the benefits of a highly urbanized city. A plebiscite is scheduled on December 6, 2008 where the people will vote whether they are in favor of converting Tacloban City into a highly urbanized City.
Politicians and organizations in the City and in the province have made their stand on the issue. Some of them are pro while others are cons. Among the most popular persons opposing the City Government’s move to convert Tacloban City into an HUC are the Governor of the Province of Leyte and the rest of the members of the provincial government. This is also a reason why people start to ask why is the provincial government opposing the move. It is known to everyone in the province that the Romualdez’ and the Petilla’s have this long time political rivalry. Could it be a political reason why the province is in strong opposition to Tacloban’s dream of being named as an HUC or are there things that are still to be considered before Tacloban steps ahead?
But I guess before every Taclobanon should vote, it won’t take much time if they will ask first the people who know better than them what are its advantages and disadvantages. What will a Taclobanon get if he says yes and what will he loose if he says no? We better think twice…
Here is Tacloban City--soon to be a Highly Urbanized City

Finding The Way
Sure enough, ECE is the toughest course in EVSU..I'm saying this not because I'm taking up ECE and I don't have any idea on what the hell the other students of my beloved university are experiencing right now but with due respect to all of them, it is very clear who among the students are seen carrying heavy loads...yet people also see us excelling on academics (char!). You can ask any Engineering instructor or even Mathematics Instructors from the CAS if you want some testimonies...
But my point here is, I'm glad that despite the fact that I'm very busy this days, I still have time to unwind and write down here the things that troubles my mind. Hopefully my friends will be able to read this and I'm pretty sure they'll be very happy to see that I've found a way out of my stressful life. (Huhu I don't have a lovelife--I've got no one to pamper me...to listen to me and take care of me.)
